Introduction to xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

xdg-desktop-portal-gnome is a backend for xdg-desktop-portal, that is using GTK and various pieces of GNOME infrastructure.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS 12.4 platform.

Required

gnome-desktop-44.3, GTK-4.18.6, libadwaita-1.7.6, xdg-desktop-portal-1.20.3, and xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-1.15.3 (at runtime)

Installation of xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

Install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome by running the following commands: 

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

meson setup --prefix=/usr --buildtype=release .. &&
ninja

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user: 

ninja install

Note

If you installed the package to your system using a “DESTDIR” method, /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/gschemas.compiled was not updated/created. Create (or update) the file using the following command as the root user: 

glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
